What is the Vulnerability Early Warning Service?

The Vulnerability Early Warning Service provides up-to-date information on vulnerabilities and risks by collecting and analyzing multiple open sources. Its objective is to minimize the time required to identify threats that may affect the organization.

In addition, it facilitates the tracking and management of detected vulnerabilities, helping responsible teams to prioritize and coordinate their resolution in an agile, simple, and effective manner.

Our services

How we work

The Early Warning service is executed in the following phases:

01Initial data

Prior to the start of monitoring for the specified products, information regarding the defined scope is requested in order to configure the initially monitored platforms and versions, which will be updated as changes occur.

02Monitoring Process

Once the products (platforms and versions) are confirmed, the process of monitoring vulnerabilities that may affect said products will begin.

This process includes the following stages:

Identification of associated vulnerabilities

The Early Warning service monitors vulnerability publication databases and detects those that may affect the products specified in the scope. The associated CVE, its publication date, the CVSS score, and a description are identified.

Report generation

Based on the information collected in the previous stage, a report is generated detailing the results obtained.

Communication of the report

Depending on the specified frequency, a report will be provided that will reflect the criticality level of each vulnerability (based on the associated CVSS) to help prioritize the application of corrective measures.

Report analysis

Once the Early Warning report is received, organizations must analyze it to assess whether any of the reported vulnerabilities could be a false positive and label it as such.

03Results

As a result of the service, Internet Security Auditors will provide an email report that will include, among other information, and for each monitored product:

  • CVE of each vulnerability associated with the product.
  • Description of each vulnerability.
  • CVSS associated with each vulnerability.
  • Status of the vulnerability.

Scope of service

What this service covers

Vulnerability monitoring

Monitoring multiple open sources and vulnerability disclosure databases to detect those that may affect products within the scope.

Product inventory

Initial configuration of the monitored platforms and versions, which is kept up to date in response to any changes in the environment.

Identification and classification

Identification of the CVE associated with each vulnerability, its publication date, CVSS score, and a description, to understand the risk they pose.

Periodic reports

Email report with the agreed-upon frequency, reflecting the criticality of each vulnerability according to its CVSS to prioritize corrective measures.

Monitoring and management

Tracking the status of each vulnerability, helping responsible teams prioritize and coordinate their resolution in an agile, simple, and effective manner.

False positive analysis

Review of the report by the organization to assess and label as false positives any reported vulnerabilities that are not applicable.

What information does the report include?

For each monitored product, the CVE of each associated vulnerability, its description, the associated CVSS, and the vulnerability status.

What should be done upon receiving the report?

Once the report has been received, the organization must analyze it to evaluate whether any of the reported vulnerabilities could be a false positive and label it as such.

Does it allow for vulnerability tracking?
