Cross-Site Scripting (XSS Reflected) in Movistar
Reflected XSS vulnerability on the Movistar Spain platform that allowed the capture of session cookies.
Antecedentes
Movistar is Telefónica's commercial brand for telecommunications services in Spain and other countries.
Description
The Movistar platform did not properly sanitize user inputs, accepting JavaScript code and reflecting it back to the user. This allowed attackers to create malicious URLs that execute arbitrary scripts in the victims' browsers. The vulnerable parameters were xxxtipouserxxx, xxxuserxxx, and xxxpasswordxxx via the GET method on the login servlet.
Impacto empresarial
If the user has an active session with their Movistar account at the time of the attack, their current cookies could be captured by the attacker.
Sistemas afectados
www.movistar.es (login servlet /sr/sso/pub/servlet/login)
Solución
Movistar confirmed the remediation on 08/29/2018.
