wwwstats is vulnerable to Persistent XSS
Persistent Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in wwwstats via clickstats.php.
Antecedentes
wwwstats is a widely used web traffic analyzer that records user agents, referrers, downloads, and other visit data in a database.
Description
It is possible to inject HTML and JavaScript into the database by directly calling the clickstats.php code, which would allow defacement, admin session hijacking, redirects, and XSS worms. Simply fill in the HTTP Referer field and submit the link in the link parameter (or the useragent field) to save a script that steals the admin's cookies.
Business impact
Defacement or a redirect can damage the corporate image.
Affected systems
wwwstats v3.21 and earlier (all).
Solución
Clean up the entries and update to version 3.22.
